LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF GEOLOGY, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY CARBONDALE

The Department of Geology, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, announces an opening for the position of term non-tenure-track Lecturer for the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters. Duties include teaching and administrative work relevant to courses in Structural Geology (Geology 302), Petrology (Geology 315), a beginning course in earth history for non-majors (Geology 121), a physical science course for students in elementary education (Science 210), and a beginning course in geology for majors (Geology 220). Duties also include coordinating the Department teaching assistants. Requirements include: Master’s degree in geology or closely related field; Ph.D. preferred. Individuals should submit a letter of application, a statement of teaching background, complete contact information for three references, and a current curriculum vitae to the Search Committee Chair. Application deadline July 9, 2018 or until position is filled.
