The Department of Geosciences (www.geoscience.eku.edu) of Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2019. We seek a colleague with academic training that includes practical and research expertise in Earth Science, GIS, and remote sensing to complement the department's environmentally-focused geosciences programs. We offer a B.S. in Geographic Information Science and a B.S. in Environmental and Applied Geology, the latter with two concentrations: an ASBOG-based professional concentration, or an academic concentration to prepare students for graduate school. We also offer a 24-hour university certificate in GIS. Candidates must exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching at the general education and undergraduate levels, and to actively involving undergraduate students in their research. Teaching expectations include general education courses in geology and/or physical geography, and upper-level elective courses for our Geographic Information Science and Environmental and Applied Geology programs.
