ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF GEOSCIENCES - UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA - LINICOLN

Applications are invited for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with specialization in mesoscale meteorology and severe weather. This hire is one component of a broader initiative within the Meteorology/Climatology program to study meteorological hazards and climate change. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching and curricular development of undergraduate and graduate courses, to advise and direct graduate students, and to develop a rigorous research program that is supported by external funding. The candidate should demonstrate strong potential for research and teaching and must hold a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment. Female and ethnic minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Meteorology/Climatology program along with Geology, Paleontology, and Hydrological Sciences serve as the four primary units within the Department of Geosciences. The department offers a B.S. degree in Meteorology/Climatology and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Geosciences with specializations in Meteorology/Climatology.
